Colour Create - Australia Day - Green, Yellow and White

Hi Everyone,

I hope all the Australian Bloggers had a great day yesterday celebrating Australia Day!

This week it's my turn to choose a Colour Theme for Colour Create and I chose Green, Yellow and White with the optional extra being a charm. When I chose the colours I didn't realise it was the day after Australia Day but considering our sporting colours are Green and Gold it's perfect timing!

This is the picture I've chosen to inspire you with:-

I've coloured my Daisy image from Sugar Nellie with copics and added tiny pearls to the centre of her daisy chain headband. My papers are from Provo Craft - Summer Daysee and the spot and stripe are from October Afternoon.

My flowers come from a variety of sources and I've used stitching and paper piercing on my panels. The Border Punch is by Martha Stewart and the Dragonfly charm and pearls where in my stash.

I hope you'll be inspired to join us at Colour Create this week be sure to drop by and check out the amazing creations from the rest of the DT. They have done an awesome job with these colours even if they aren't their favourites :)

I'm also entering my card over at Creative Card Crew - Show us the Colours of your Country Challenge. These aren't our flag colours but they are the colouring that our sporting teams wear when representing our Australia!

Have a wonderful day!

Magnolia DownUnder - Reduce, Reuse or Recycle

Good Morning Everyone,

Welcome to this weeks Magnolia DownUnder Challenge! This week we have a different challenge for you, we'd like to see you reduce, reuse or recycle some items on your card or project. The things that may otherwise be thrown out...

Now I must admit I think I overthought this week's challenge! I started two different projects before settling on this card. I've finally gone with the KISS method - as in Keep It Simple Silly :)

I have reused or recycled the buttons in the centre of my flowers. My Grandmother passed away a couple of years ago and these buttons were part of a very large stash she kept in her sewing cabinet. I remember both of my Grandmothers having tins of buttons that I'd like to explore as a child. I can only assume that living in harsher times it was the done thing to remove them from old clothing for reuse!

Here's a closer look at them - plain but pretty:-

This is the first time I've used this cute baby Tilda stamp and I'm going to enter the card over at Totally Tilda Challenge too - the theme being Baby Baby. (Edit - How happy am I - this card won the Baby Baby Challenge!)

Tilda is coloured with copics and has a touch of Stickles on her wings. The polka dot paper is from Marianne Design and the Green Floral is from the Prima Annalee paper pad. I've also used the a paper doily with the edges inked in green, pearls and sewing and this cute little pearl pin that looks a little like a Nappy Pin - well that was the idea anyway :) The rose lace is from my local patchwork store.

I'm also entering my card into the CES Challenge - Angels and Fairies because this Sleeping Baby Tilda certainly looks like an Angel! Simon Says Stamp Challenge this week is Bingo and I've scored a Horizontal Line here with Buttons, Flowers and Glitter/Glimmer! Stamp Something would like Something Cute and I think Tilda should qualify for that.

Thanks for stopping by and be sure to pop over to Magnolia DownUnder and check out the amazing work from the rest of the team.

60th Birthday Card

Good Morning All,

Well I'm obviously a great sleeper because I managed to sleep through some heavy rain last night that flooded our town again! We got quite a surprise this morning on our walk when we had to change our direction twice because of flooded roads. I'm sure the water will subside this morning and hope that it didn't effect those in Brisbane too much.

Onto today's card, this is one that my friend requested for a 60th Birthday she is attending. I've used this weeks sketch over at Friday Sketchers  for my layout.  The papers I've used are from the Basic Grey Oliver paper pad and the colours suit this weeks Blue and Green theme over at A Spoon Full of Sugar Stampin for the Weekend  also called for Blue this week in conjunction with something new. My something new is my gingham ribbon and also the cute little compressor that I've just purchase to go with my copic spray system. I'm still trying to master this :)

The digital image I've used is by Mo Manning and I've used copics to colour the image with a touch of dimensional magic to give the water a gloss wet look. My card also fits the recipe of 1 Image, 2 Ribbons and 3 Pattern Papers over at the Daring Cardmakers Challenge they are sponsored this week by Robyn's Fetish.

I've use my Quickutz for the number 60, stitched my panels, added the charm and pearls for finishing touches. I'm entering this card over at the Creative Card Crew  - For Men.

Thanks for stopping by,

Creatalicious - Valentines with Ribbon

Good Morning Everyone!

Welcome to this month's Bizzy Bec's Creatalicious Challenge! As Valentine's Day is fast approaching the theme this time is Valentine's Day but we want to see ribbon on your card!

I've used some paper that I've had forever on this card! It's from The Paper Patch and it has small red hearts and dots. It's teamed with some red, white and silver cardstock, pearls, flowers, 3 different ribbons and a touch of sewing.

This Tilda was with the Christmas release but she is another stamp that is really versatile! And what a lucky girl she is... just look at all her valentines!

These beautiful Magnolia Stamps are available at Bizzy Bec's and Bec is now taking Pre-Orders for the latest release which is just gorgeous!!!

Be sure to check in at Creatalicious to check out the amazing cards by the wonderful DT.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a great weekend!

Colour Create - Pink Blue/Grey & Cream

Good Afternoon Everyone!

Wow it's that time again, another Colour Create Challenge. This week the Colours were chosen by our lovely DT Liz!  I love this colour combination and use it a lot! Pink, Blue/Grey and Cream with the optional extras of Flowers and/or Gems. I went with both!

This is the lovely pic Liz has chosen to inspire us with this challenge:-

I'm quite happy with the way this turned out, so I've decided to give it to my Mum who's turning 60 next week :) I love how versatile this Tilda is! I've coloured her with copics before cutting around the image and placing it on foam dots. The ribbon and gems where all from my stash and I've sewn each panel and added some die cut corners. The lace is new and I'm entering the Cupcake Craft Challenge - Something New!

The flowers are a combination of Wild Orchid and Magnolia and all the pattern papers are from Magnolia. I've used nestabilities dies for the cream panels and the butterfly punch is Martha Stewart.

I'm also entering my card into the ABC Challenge - L is for Lace.

I hope your be inspired to join us at Colour Create this Challenge and be sure to stop by and check out the amazing cards that the DT ladies have made to inspire you.

Before I end this post I'd really like to say a huge "THANK YOU" to my fellow DT members and Blogging Friends who have been in touch to check on me during the Queensland Floods. We are very fortunate that although our town floods we really haven't been affected. I really appreciate your thoughtfulness and lovely messages.

Karen's Sketch

I've used papers by Basic Grey for my card this week along with some Buckaroo Blue and White cardstock and a little leftover Bazzill that I don't now the name of??

Happy Birthday Shane

Good Morning All,

This card was made for my work colleague Shane (part of an ongoing joke!). This cheeky image is by Kenny K Digital Stamps and has been coloured with copic markers. I'm entering this card into the Kenny K's Krafty Girlz Challenge - to use hearts as she has a tiny heart tattoo on her thigh!

Cute Card Thursday has challenged us to use something old this week. I've used quite a lot of old things on this card, the brads are really old from my stash, the SU Sanded Background Stamp and the Cuttlebug Embossing Folder and even the SU Sentiment stamp I've had for ages.

I'm also going to enter my card over at Crazy 4 Challenges who want to Celebrate Something which in this case is a Birthday!

Hope you are having a great start to the year! Here in Queensland we are in for a very wet weekend and most probably flooding :(

I'll be back on Sunday with my Magnolia DownUnder Card.
